Since 1991, we have had many wonderful GSP's in our lives. We think of them often and see resemblances of them in their offspring today. They will always be remembered and be a huge part of who we are today. Our lives are enriched with their memories.

"Harley" - Harley's Steele my Heart
"Harley" 1994-2008
"Harley" was our first purchased GSP....as our wedding gift to each other in 1994. He would eventually be the start of Calvert Kennels after being involved with GSP rescue for 7 years in Maryland and Virginia. We soon moved to Oregon and became involved with NAVHDA and established our kennel in 1997.
"Neela" - Calverts First Impression
"Neela" - 1997-2012
"Neela"- Our pick of the litter out of our first litter in 1997. She proved to be an exceptional girl...and Marks dog. A prize 1 perfect score 112 at 1yr old to the day on our first NAVHDA Natural Ability test. She continued to give all she had in the field and water until she was 14yrs old.
"Ammo" - Orions Ammo
"Ammo" 2000 - 2013
Our "Once in a lifetime" type of dog. Ammo was every bit all DK. He was our first import Deutsch Kurzhaar and an excellent example of the breed. His confident, affectionate personality was a pleasure in the home and yet in the field he was very prey driven with a medium range search. Ammo was a very strong tracker and retriever in the field as well as in the water. His stamina and biddability in the field made for a pleasurable hunt every time. Currently his offspring have proven to be outstanding hunting companions. Our "Nina" is his daughter and shows many of his traits as well.
"Cali" - Tramac Cali Rose
"Cali" - 2004-2015
"Cali" was a very loving, playful dog and all desire in the field. She had a love of the water unrivalled by any dog. Her disposition was perfect and showed through her offspring. She was a close working dog and extremely biddable in the field and at home.
